Inspiring -- the timing has me recharged for the new school year. It puts everything in perspective about assessment driving instruction.
Monica Simonson, Teacher from Palmer, Nebraska
Well organized, excellent presenters, and ready to implement ideas. I felt more like I was having casual conversations with colleagues than at a workshop. It was highly engaging and the give aways were such a great touch.
Stephanie Bartell, Teacher from Chicago, Illinois
Just what I needed to nudge my own professional development in my work as a literacy coach. It really jumpstarted my thinking about the needs of our school. We continue to struggle with balancing curriculum and student needs but most of all, time. Both CAFE and the Daily 5 together have the potential to move teachers towards a management and instructional system to address all of these. I can't wait to share with my colleagues.
Rose Patterson, Literacy Coach from Waterville, Maine
This workshop is a "must"! It is beneficial for the novice and the veteran teacher.
We were treated like royalty!
Belinda K. Sampson, Teacher from Seaside, Oregon
This workshop helps to take a Daily 5 classroom to the next step of bringing down the barrier between assessment and instruction.
Deb Corey, Teacher from Portland, Maine
It was the perfect "next step" for where I am with teaching and learning literacy. I loved using the Daily 5 format this year and this (CAFE) just ties it all together!
Maureen Benz, Teacher from Silverton, Idaho
Fabulous! Wonderful! Amazing! You have to go if you ever have the opportunity!! You guys are the best!! What a wonderful day it's been! Thank you!!
Laura Meegan, Teacher from Cumberland, Rhode Island
Awesome! Often you learn one or two things to try. With this workshop you're inspired to revamp your philosophy and methods. And it's exciting, not overwhelming. I can't believe how manageable CAFE is. Now that I have the management piece down with Daily 5, this is the natural next step to improving my teaching and the students' learning. Jaime Cochrane, Teacher from Boscawen, New Hampshire
Entertaining, informative, thought provoking. The presenters were so knowledgeable, and well able to speak from real-world experience. Their ideas were practical and easy to implement with some thought and planning. Choice Literacy is top-notch in terms of thinking professionally, planning professionally, presenting professionally. Great stuff!
Janice Driscoll, Principal from Clifton Springs, New York
Awesome -- not just for primary teachers. Teachers who are ready to move from guided reading to strategy groups will love this!
Nancy K. Maynard, Teacher from Wallingford, Connecticut
