Writers in Transition: Teaching Revision Strategies in Grades 3-6

By the end of the primary grades, children have mastered the alphabet, a sense of story, and the basics of writing workshops. What's next for young writers in transition? For many, a unit on revision makes sense because it helps them see a multitude of ways to refine and improve their writing. This video highlights the lessons, strategies, and goals of a writing unit of study on revision in Franki Sibberson's intermediate classroom, as Franki helps students focus on honing their drafts.

Franki Sibberson has worked as a teacher, staff developer, curriculum coordinator and literacy coach for colleagues in Dublin, Ohio.  She currently holds a full-time position as a media specialist in the district.
