Teachers love room tours! Choice Literacy asked extraordinary teachers from across the United States to guide viewers through their classrooms, demonstrating the links between learning and beautiful classroom design. Each tour is 5-10 minutes long, with teachers sharing strategies for:
- Creating vibrant wall displays;
- Organizing libraries to promote student independence;
- Making the most of low-cost and free materials;
- Displaying books in ways that pique student interest;
- Arranging lamps, rugs and seating for comfort and warmth; and
- Integrating your own sense of style into your classroom.
There are 12 classrooms from grades K-6 included on the DVD. Bonus tracks include tours of literacy rooms for teachers, and five bookrooms using different strategies for organizing books for grade-level team use.

2. Kindergarten (Dublin, Ohio) Maureen Knostman gives a tour of her bright and lively classroom used in a half-day kindergarten program.
3. K-2 Multiage (Federal Way, Washington) In this excerpt from their Simply Beautiful video, Joan Moser and Gail Boushey give a tour of Joan's K-2 classroom.
4. 1st Grade (Dublin, Ohio) Katie DiCesare shows how book and wall displays support literacy learning among her students.
